It is almost the weekend. Classes are ending, and students are ready to unwind. Here is a roundup of events to attend during the weekend respite.

Spartan Stampede Rodeo

Are you interested in seeing cowboys and cowgirls participate in events such as barrel racing, steer wrestling and the dangerous sport of bull riding?

The MSU Rodeo Club is hosting its 43rd annual Spartan Stampede Rodeo at 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the MSU Pavilion.

Ringside tickets are $20 and all upper seats cost $15 at the door.

The rodeo will feature riders from the International Professional Rodeo Association going up against some of the best local livestock.

Find some sense

From 2-4 p.m. Friday in room 346 of Giltner Hall, the club MSU S.E.N.S.E.S., or Students Exploring New Sensory Experiences in Synesthesia, is hosting Eating Words & Feeling Sounds: The Synesthesia Experience. This event will give attendees the chance to experience what it’s like to live with synesthesia, a neurological condition that causes involuntary stimulation of the senses. Synesthetes sometimes see letters or numbers as color or taste the way words sound.

Friday’s event will give non-synesthetes the chance to experience being synesthetes. As a synesthete, you will have the ability to see A in red, taste words and feel sound.

Attendants will receive free food and souvenirs.

For more information, visit the club’s Facebook event.

Battle of the Bands

This week has marked Greek Week for the sororities and fraternities on campus. And continuing the festivities, at 7 p.m. Friday in the Auditorium, members of the greek community will participate in the Battle of the Bands.

Anyone is welcome to attend, and the cost is $5 at the door.

The live performances from the bands will be judged on such criteria as creativity, accuracy, group dynamics and difficulty.

All Greek Week activities raise money for specific charities.
